Ty Lawson Facing Domestic Violence Charge Against Girlfriend

Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson, 25, was arrested in Denver Monday, along with his 24-year-old girlfriend “Bad Girls Club” reality show actress Ashley Nicole Pettiford, after police were called to a domestic violence incident in the baller’s home.

ABC 7 News reported that the dispute at Lawson’s home near East Iliff Avenue and South Wabash Street in Denver appears to have involved yelling, screaming and damaging of cellphones.  The conflict was a mutual situation and as a result, the deputies made the decision that there was probable cause to arrest both parties.

Lawson was arrested for criminal mischief and harassment. Pettiford was arrested for criminal mischief and domestic violence. The charges are both misdemeanors.

According to court records, Lawson was issued a mandatory protection order, prohibiting  any contact with Pettiford. A mandatory injunction was issued in Pettiford’s case. Both defendants were released on $1,000 bond.

It’s safe to say that the Nuggets ball club was not pleased when hearing the news of the star guard.

Nuggets general manager Tim Connelly said, “We are fully aware of an incident involving Ty Lawson over the weekend. Per team policy and out of respect for the legal process, we will have no further comment at this time.”
