Human rights activist and Muslim minister Malcolm X may not have been affiliated with any political party in the U.S., but that hasn’t stopped actress Stacey Dash from using one of his many powerful quotes in the fight between Democrats and Republicans.
Dash famously dumped the Democratic Party after what she felt was a disappointing first term by President Barack Obama.
The former “Clueless” actress publicly supported Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney and hasn’t looked back since.
This past weekend, Dash had a chance to call out media mogul Oprah Winfrey for urging President Obama to stay off Fox News, a conservative news channel.
According to the Huff Post:
“The actress took to Twitter to post a link to a Fox News Insider article which slammed Oprah for comparing (Trayvon) Martin to Emmett Till and for saying that President Obama shouldn’t be ‘on Fox News every day.”
Dash tweeted a quote from Malcolm X to bring her point home:
“‘If you aren’t careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.’ ~ Malcolm X.”
She added, “Shame on you, Oprah.”
