“It was kind of funny,” Bush said. “It was a route that for some reason I’ve dropped every time he’s thrown it to me. And we finally completed it today and I kind of joked about it and told him, I said, ‘Hey, drinks on me tonight. We finally completed this ball.’ ”
Bush and Stafford will get their first chance to use this play in a real game when they battle the Cleveland Browns in Thursday’s exhibition game.
“Yeah, I’m pretty comfortable, and I feel like our chemistry is improving,” he said. “We took another step up in the right direction. So I definitely feel like you’re going to see some things this game. I just feel like our chemistry between me and Matt in the passing game is getting better, and we’re improving on that.”
Kickoff for the Lions and Browns preseason game begins at 7:30p.m. in Cleveland.
