Glenn Beck Attacks Oprah Over Trayvon Martin Comment

Earlier this week, Oprah Winfrey said that in her opinion, the killing of Trayvon Martin and the subsequent acquittal of his killer, George Zimmerman, was the “same thing” as the 1955 murder of Emmett Till.

In his usual form, conservative TV/radio host Glenn Beck responded with a verbal lashing of the media mogul.  You can watch the video above to get a dose of it.

Beck attacked Oprah, calling the comparison “unbelievably wrong. These are two cases that… have nothing in common.”

“Oprah Winfrey would get pummeled for this statement if she wasn’t Oprah Winfrey and she wasn’t on the left,” Beck said.

He went on to suggest that George Zimmerman’s killing of Martin was ruled as self-defense, and although Till’s killers were also acquitted, they were racist murderers.

“How are these stories like each other at all?” Beck continued. “It’s offensive, and I would go so far as to call it evil to compare these events.”

Hmmm, I wonder who seems more credible when it comes to comparing and contrasting the impact of racism on blacks in America? Nice try Oprah!  You only grew up and lived in Mississippi around the same time Till was murdered.

Beck, on the other hand, hadn’t seen a black person until he left the state of Washington to attend college, so of course he’s better qualified.
