Natural Healing: Alkaline Water Does A Body Good

Alkaline

The ideal water to drink during and after detoxifying and cleansing is alkaline water.

Alkaline water is specially processed water that raises its pH balance, which is usually neutral (7.0 pH). Any water that is higher than 7.0 on the pH scale is alkaline water.

Really good alkaline water should have a pH of  between 8.5 and 9.5.

Drinking alkaline water over time will automatically influence your body’s pH balance and cause it to rise. Ideally, the human body’s pH level or balance should be 7.3; however, due to the standard American diet that is very acidic and which many of us unwisely consume, our pH level is below 7.3, usually ranging from 6.0 to 6.8 in the average person.

An acid pH is not good for optimal health. Acidity is one half of anaerobia, which is a  state of  low oxygen and low pH that allows disease to physically manifest and destroy health and vitality. Every degenerative disease denotes anaerobia. And where there is anaerobia there is mucus and some level inflammation.

When the pH balance is thrown off or altered, overall health will also be thrown off or altered, hence im-balance aka dis-ease.

Just about everything the majority of us consume (and enjoy) is acidic: meat (animal cadavers and slaughtered animal flesh), dairy products, refined grains, refined starch (stiffening agents), sugar, salt , chemical additives (preservatives, flavor enhancers, etc.), candy and chocolate, soda, pop, wine, alcohol, beer, processed orange juice, coffee and hot cocoa, commercial tea beverages and fruit juices and even bottled water.

The most acidic substance you could consume are soda pop (2.0 pH) and vinegar (0.0 pH). And boy, do Americans love soda pop. We consume vinegar with pickles (and other products, especially condiments such as mustard)…

I am fairly certain if your blood were to be in a pH of 6.0 to 6.8 you would be dead. Your kidneys control the pH of your body by releasing Amonia and Hydrogen to keep you in balance. There is no way to "change" the pH of the Body because your body regulates it automatically to keep it what it should be. There are even different pH's throughout your body. you can have slightly different pH's on the inside and outside of cells. Your Kidney's keep all of that in check. Finally how is alkaline water changing your pH when pH is dependent on the positive and negative ions in the water and contaminant levels effect that. so the first thing the water hits is your highly acidic stomach with all the other food you have eaten. The pH of that water is now radically shifted and you have pretty much just taken an antacid.

I once knew a guy who could pass sobriety tests with blood alcohol level of .47. While Most Alcohol is Acidic in nature, Ethel-alcohol is basic I tend to think Alkaline blood would not kill you with int reason. While your long term ph is governed by your kidneys I know that in-taking higher ph substances such as baking soda water (~ph8) can help relieve the lactic acid build-up associated with working out. . . has an unfortunate taste, but thankfully there are alternatives. This may be more of what the meant by "detoxifying" or i could be reaching since I did not read the article.

but isn't that a bit of a misnomer. Your kidneys are not removing the acid build up but are instead neutralizing it by adding ammonia to bring it into balance and vice versa, if there is an excess of base your kidneys will pump out hydrogen to balance you back out.
