Geno Smith says that even though he and Mark Sanchez are currently battling for the top quarterback spot for the New York Jets, the relationship between the two is fine.
“Me and Mark are cool; there’s no hard feelings or anything,” Smith said in the recent interview. “He’s up there getting work with the guys. I’m down here getting work.”
When asked his opinion on Sanchez publicly claiming the starting quarterback position, the rookie mentioned that he’s been taking the competition “very seriously, preparing myself to be a starter, as I’ve said all along.”
Jets rookies are scheduled to report to training camp on Monday, July 22nd. Smith still has to sign his contract with the team.
