Derek Jeter Gets Single In First Hit Back From Injury

Derek Jeter, who has just returned to the Yankees‘ lineup, is already showing his true value. On his first at-bat since suffering an ankle injury, the All-Star shortstop singled his first hit back.

As Jeter went to the plate, an expected electric stimulation took over Yankee stadium as the fans cheered for the iconic shortstop.

Jeter was originally scheduled to begin play Friday in the series against the Minnesota Twins, but because of injuries to DH Travis Hafner and Gardner, he returned early.

“We’re better with him here,” the Yankees GM said late Thursday morning, “Period.”
