Back To School: Everett Golson Returning to Notre Dame In Spring

Everett Golson, the quarterback who helped lead the University of Notre Dame football squad to a 12-1 record in 2012 as a redshirt freshman, was suspended for the fall semester due to “Poor academic judgment.”

Golson’s suspension had nothing to do with the football team, rather the University itself.

“I have been informed by the University of Notre Dame that due to my poor academic judgment that I have been suspended from the University for the 2013 Fall Term,” Golson said. “I take full responsibility for my poor choices and will do all that is asked of me to regain the trust of my family, friends, teammates, coaches and the entire Notre Dame community.”

Despite his setback, the footballer seems to be in good spirits, leaving little doubt about rejoining the University of Notre Dame next year.

“I can tell you this. I will be returning, I look forward to returning in the spring. That’s pretty much it.”

With Golson gone, the ‘Fighting Irish’ are left with Tommy Rees as its best option. Rees, a senior, has thrown for more than 4,000 yards and 34 touchdowns during his career.
