Rapper 50 Cent is facing charges of domestic abuse brought on by his ex-girlfriend and possible mother of his second child.
The unnamed former girlfriend made the domestic violence call against 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, on June 23.
“During an argument, Jackson allegedly began destroying the female’s property. Allegedly when the female locked herself in her bedroom, Jackson kicked open the bedroom door and kicked her, causing an injury,” a report by the Los Angeles police states.
After initial reports of the incident surfaced courtesy of TMZ, 50 made a vague reference on Twitter,
“I’m in the car I haven’t been arrested. I’m listing to MJ#SMSAUDIO”
The attorney for the rapper, Scott Leemon, officially responded to the charges in a statement, saying,”Curtis Jackson denies these allegations as made against him. It is important to note, Mr. Jackson has not been arrested and there is no warrant outstanding for his arrest. We have been in contact with the LA City Attorney’s Office and are currently conducting our own investigation into these allegations. Out of respect for the legal process, we will not be commenting any further at this time.”
If convicted 50 Cent faces up to five years in jail and $46,000 in fines.
