Tamera Mowry-Housley Praises the Diversity on New Talk Show 'The Real'

Are you ready to tune in to another morning talk-show? If you’re in Los Angeles, D.C, Philly, Phoenix, Houston or Tampa you will be amongst the first to watch ‘The Real’ — hosted by Tamar Braxton (“Tamar & Vince”), Loni Love (“Kickin It”), Adrienne Bailon (“The Cheetah Girls”), Jeannie Mai (“Holiday Fabulous”) and Tamera Mowry-Housley (“Tia & Tamera”).  ‘The Real’ will get a four week test run on select Fox-owned stations starting July 15.

“Tamar, Loni, Adrienne, Jeannie and Tamera are five amazing women of different ages and races, all at different places in their lives who reflect the experiences the audience is going through at the same time as they are,” Telepictures president Hilary Estey McLoughlin said in a statement.

The producers hope the show will resonate with daytime’s younger female viewers, who are experiencing new events in their life just as the hosts are i.e. new baby, marriage, and dating.

Actress Tamera Mowry-Housley is confident the panel’s diversity will connect with viewers.

“I love to be traditional and just because you are conservative or a traditional person doesn’t mean you have to be boring! …The greatest thing about America is its diversity and this show reflects that diversity. No matter who you are, there is someone at this table that will be speaking for you.”

Meanwhile Tamar Braxton hopes the show will help her shed her bratty, spoiled reputation rightfully earned on the ‘Braxton Family’.

“A lot of people think, because they see me on ‘Braxton Family Values’ as the youngest of five sisters, that I’m this brat and I’m just spoiled, but on this show I get to be a woman. I get to give you my real opinion about life, about pop culture, and finally be identified as just a regular lady.”
