Kelly Rowland has added another gig to her already busy schedule. The former Destiny Child singer is currently negotiating a deal to join a judging panel that includes Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato, and Mexican singer/actress Paulina Rubio (also in negotiations) on the U.S. version of The X Factor, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
A source told the media outlet that the deal is not set in stone, but producers plan to have the new panel of judges seated in time for the Charleston, South Carolina auditions which are set to kick off on Tuesday, May 21.
Rowland and Rubio would be replacing the seats vacated by judges Britney Spears and L.A. Reid, who both left the show in 2012. The deals are expected to be finalized by today.
When she takes on the judging post, Kelly doesn’t have to worry about a learning curve at all. She sat as a judge on the eighth season of The X Factor U.K, but was fired for some unknown reason.
Kelly Rowland will have to juggle her new X Factor gig with promoting her new album “Talk a Good Game,” which is scheduled to hit stores on June 18.
