Kim Kardashian recently spoke up about how she plans to raise her bi-racial baby on the way and honestly we believe she definitely has her mind in the right place.
While I’m no big fan of Kim Kardashian, I will admit that people take unnecessary jabs at the reality star when she really doesn’t deserve it.
There are actually quite a few times when Kimmy K does have a positive message such as wanting her baby to “not see color.”
During an interview with BET it was no surprise that the baby’s race was brought up.
There have been many debates on how to raise a bi-racial child and what parents should expect them to face when it’s time for their child to embark on their journey into the real world.
If Kanye’s girlfriend stays true to her word, we actually have faith that when it comes to race their child will be very accepting.
“Obviously you want your children, for me, to travel the world and experience different races and different cultures everywhere so I think that would be something that is important to me to give as much information as I could,” she explained.
She has even received some tips from her famous friends on raising a bi-racial baby as well.
“I have a lot of friends that are all different nationalities and their children are bi-racial,” she continued. “So they have kind of talked to me a little bit about it and what to expect and what not to expect. But I think the most important thing is, how I would want to raise my children, is to just not see color.”
Even with a message like this, many people found a way to criticize Kim’s answer by saying she just simply wasn’t being realistic. The important thing to realize, however, is that we can’t always take every message so literally.
Of course her children will still notice the difference in everyone’s complexion, but the message behind “not seeing color” isn’t something to be taken literally.
Growing up, my mother constantly reminded my brother and I not to “see color, but see people and spirit instead.”
We were very young when we questioned why our grandmother’s skin was white when the rest of us were black.
While she did explain to us that people come in different shades she also instructed us to only “notice” skin color but we should only see the person for who they are not what they look like.
In this sense, I can understand Kim’s wording when she says she wants to raise her baby “not to see color” and I commend her for it.
Meanwhile, the critics have also slammed the famous Kardashian for trying to hide her baby bump with her fashion choices.
Well the mommy-to-be proved them all wrong when she stepped out yesterday (March 27) in a fitted gray dress that showed off every curve on her body.
Kanye’s boo was leaving the Trump Hotel in SoHo, New York when the cameras caught her in the tight, bejeweled ensemble along with some chic silver pumps.
The dress certainly didn’t do anything to hide the 32-year-old’s baby bump and in fact it did the opposite by adding on a few pounds – but Kim didn’t care.
The celebrity blogger wrote to her fans yesterday to explain that she wasn’t ashamed of her new pregnant body.
“I see comments from many people that I only wear black and I’m trying to hide my pregnancy or I’m ashamed, which is so beyond ridiculous,” she wrote.
The allegations that she’s trying to hide her baby weight came after she consistently wore black outfits and high waisted skirts. Once again, this is definitely evidence of the critics (dare we say haters) going out of their way to bash Kim.
It wasn’t long ago that everyone claimed Kanye had converted Kim over to the illuminati because suddenly she wore nothing but black – evidence that she has been rocking black clothes long before she had a bun in the oven.
Suddenly, however, the black clothes mean she ashamed of her baby bump?
Trust me, I never miss an opportunity to use Kimmy K as a target for comedic gold, but this just isn’t one of those times.
“I’ve always worn black and I love it,” Kim explained. “So simple & chic!”
In an interview with E! she even revealed that she loves her growing bump.
“I think it’s really cute now that my belly has popped a little bit,” the middle Kardashian sister said. “I think it’s really a sexy thing; it’s cute.”
According to the star, Kanye loves her pregnant body just as much as she does and because of that she certainly won’t be using anything in her massive closet to hide her growing baby bump.
