Looks like Porsha Williams Stewart won’t be a housewife anymore. Former NFL star Kordell Stewart, a.k.a Slash, has filed for divorce from the reality star and refuses to pay a single dime for spousal support.
It looks like the former Pittsburgh Steelers star is finally as annoyed with Porsha Williams as we are.
TMZ reported that Kordell filed for divorce on March 22 in Fulton County and has no intentions of trying to work things out.
The divorce papers reveal that the marriage is “irretrievably broken” and that the two had already been separated prior to him filing for divorce.
The documents didn’t point out specific issues with the marriage but thanks to the power of reality TV and celebrity blogging we do have a few clues.
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” co-star Nene Leakes blogged about Porsha’s relationship with Kordell claiming that he was way too controlling and talked to his wife as if she was his child.
“[I]t appears that Kordell is talking to his daughter and not his wife,” Leakes wrote. “Porsha can’t seem to do much without getting permission from Kordell.
Wet Paint Entertainment certainly isn’t surprised by the split due to an anonymous source that exposed the issues in the marriage before it was officially announced.
“The show highlighted their marriage in a big way,” the source said. “And with their first season now over, a lot of people were asking him how he and Porsha were doing. The phrase he kept using was, ‘It’s a wrap!’ I thought he meant it in terms of them being wrapped up in filming – but I now realize he was actually talking about their marriage.”
As if that tip wasn’t enough of a sign of marital problems, the Porsha’s husband didn’t even show up for the reunion taping of the “RHOA” despite the fact that all the other ladies’ significant others were present. Yikes. That had to be embarrassing.
The divorce will probably impact the reality star both emotionally and financially because her entire career has pretty much been built off of being an athlete’s wife.
“Porsha’s got to be devastated,” the source continued. “Her whole identity is about being Kordell’s partner, and I know she really wanted to start a family with him. They were actively trying. This is going to be a huge blow.”
Perhaps the blow was so huge that the “Real Housewife” was in denial?
Just a few days before the divorce, Porsha sat down with HollywoodLife.com and spoke very highly of her marriage.
She even insisted that she loved Kordell’s controlling ways.
“Well I don’t have a problem with a man having an opinion. If you’re a man, I need to know where you are leading our family,” she said. “And I love that about him and along the way, there are some things I agree with and some things I don’t. As long as he can respect my opinion and let me woo him into what I want.”
Obviously Porsha’s husband saw plenty of issues in the relationship, but she saw nothing but a wonderful team.
“This is Team Stewart,” she said when she was asked if her opinion mattered in the relationship. “He’s the king and I’m the queen.”
Well the king is ready to get Porsha out his castle and he isn’t going to send her out with a single dime.
He claimed that he will refuse to pay spousal report because his soon-to-be ex-wife is “an able-bodied person, earning income and is capable of supporting herself.”
Honestly, we couldn’t agree more… especially if she takes the Kenya Moore approach of “if you don’t want me I’m telling everyone you’re gay.”
Rumors were swirling last year that the former NFL star was gay, but Porsha was quick to come to her man’s defense.
“You know there were a lot of gay rumors about Kordell at one point,” Power 105 FM’s Breakfast Club host Charlemagne told Porsha back in December. “He [allegedly] got caught in the park in Pittsburgh and the police didn’t want to turn him in because he was a star quarterback.”
Back then Porsha’s response was, “I don’t know any details of all that. There’s lies out there on the Internet about all kinds of celebrities.”
Now that she is being left for broke (except for that fat reality show check) she might switch things up a bit to pull in some serious cash just for dishing on her ex’s sexuality.
It is widely believed that the rumors were false, but there is no telling how an angry ex might twist the story to get the media on her side.
