‘Touch’ Season 2 Episode 8: “Reunions”

On this week’s Touch season 2, episode 8, “Reunions,” following an exhausting turn of events at Breakwire, Martin, Lucy, and Jake track down Calvin outside Tony Rigby’s house. After Martin collars Calvin into helping him locate Amelia, they head to Calvin’s loft where he explains Aster Corps’ motivations connected to Amelia, while Jake attaches himself to a revealing brain scanner. Jake’s scan provides more information about Amelia’s whereabouts as well as a final piece to the puzzle for Calvin to communicate with his brain-dead brother. Armed with leads to Amelia’s location, Martin, Lucy and Jake put their lives on the line when they attempt to infiltrate an Aster Corps desert facility.

Touch is a preternatural drama series which follows a group of seemingly unrelated characters – beginning with a former firefighter tormented by his inability to save a dying woman, an Iraqi teenager who will go to great risks to help his family, a gifted singer whose actions at a karaoke bar save lives thousands of miles away and a British businessman desperately trying to retrieve a key piece of information from his lost mobile phone – who affect each other in ways seen and unseen.

At the center is Martin Bohm (Kiefer Sutherland), a widower and single father, haunted by an inability to connect to his mute, severely autistic 11-year-old son, Jake. Caring, intelligent and thoughtful, Martin has tried everything to reach his son who shows little emotion and never allows himself to be touched by anyone, including Martin. Jake busies himself with cast-off cell phones, disassembling them and manipulating the parts, allowing him to see the world in his own special way. After multiple failed attempts at keeping Jake in school, Martin is visited by social worker Clea Hopkins, who insists on doing an evaluation of the Bohms’ living situation. Although new at her job, Clea sees a man whose life has become dominated by a child he can no longer control.

Touch season 2 episode 8 “Reunions” airs Friday, March 22, at 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT on FOX.

I’m really disapponted that Lucy was killed. Although, i dont think shes dead because they wouldnt just unite her and amelia and then just all of a sudden just kill her off. That would be so very wrong and cruel.

  2. Johnist Farkburg says:

I was shocked when Lucy was killed. I knew it had to happen… But Amelia… She was clearly deeply moved. In the end of this episode, she explains that either way, Lucy would be killed. However, Amelia escapes. Now the question is, where does she go, and how does she find her way back to Jake and Martin. I really hope Lucy’s not dead, but from the looks of it, she definitely is. I also worry about Martin saying “I’ll see you soon”. Does that mean that he too will die soon? Will it be down to Amelia and Jake (possibly Martin) to survive by themselves? This will certainly be an interesting series form here on. I also suggest that the show employes some new side-plots like they did in the first season. Other than that, great show, with a shocking, but revealing ending.

  3. fran says:

If you read the news, Lucy didn’t sign for another season so they killed her off. I like this series but it looks like ratings are down and cancellation is predicted.

  4. josh says:

I feel so bad for Amelia she finally reunited with her mom and Lucy got killed one of the saddest TV moments ever (poor Lucy) 🙁
