Kenya Moore, cast member and chief crazy on the Real Housewives of Atlanta, is slamming another Georgia resident, 7-year-old Alana Thompson, also known as Honey Boo Boo, for being not so Gone With the Wind-fabulous.
Moore, 42, spoke out against the TLC phenomenon in an interview with In Touch Weekly, arguing “Honey Boo Boo is not a role model for young women.”
While Moore may have a point that Alana is not a model of etiquette or health (cheese balls being her favorite snack), the comment is rich coming from Moore, whose favorite activities include bitch slapping other housewives and bragging about her own pageant days.
As Moore never forgets to remind the RHOA cast and viewers, she was Miss USA in 1993–and sometimes gets mistaken for Beyonce. Modesty isn’t her best trait.
Due to her own background in pageants, Moore feels she has the place to call out Honey Boo Boo for having too much of a “fake” look. “Pageants are about having poise and promoting self-esteem and self-worth. When a little girl wears a lot of makeup, fake teeth and extensions…that’s just not appropriate,” said Moore, who I’m sure didn’t have any “extensions” when she competed.
In the In Touch interview, Moore also blamed Alana’s mother, June Shannon, 33, for the bad wardrobe choices, saying “Her mother puts her onstage looking like a glorified hooker!”
Kenya would know a few things about hooker-chic, having arrived at NeNe Leakes’ ShoeDazzle event wearing a revealing a lace thong bathing suit and tights, complete with visible butt pads underneath. The outfit was motivated by her ongoing war with other housewife Phaedra Parks, so clearly it was a retaliation full of poise.
Alana and June have yet to fire back at Moore, but it seems a crossover episode is in order. Perhaps Moore should volunteer to be Honey Boo Boo’s new etiquette coach?
