Coke Icon Ingrid Saunders Jones Retiring, Lisa Borders to Fill Her Position

Longtime Coca-Cola executive and Atlanta business icon Ingrid Saunders Jones is retiring after 30 years.

The beverage giant announced Tuesday that Jones, senior vice president of Global Community Connections and chairwoman of The Coca-Cola Foundation, will leave her post June 1. She has been with the company since 1982.

“Over the past 30 years, I have been grateful to work for a company that commits the talent and time of its employees and its philanthropic dollars to issues and organizations that empower and enhance the lives of others,” Jones said about her decision.

Former Atlanta City Council President Lisa Borders will succeed Jones. Borders, president of the Grady Health Foundation, will begin May 1.

“I am excited to be joining a company that has played such a critical role in my hometown and around the world, not only as a driver of economic growth but of social empowerment and philanthropic leadership,” said Borders.

Coca-Cola Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Muhtar Kent said Jones has been an invaluable asset to the company.
