Timberlake Spears Insult – Did Justin Timberlake insult Britney Spears at the beginning of his performance at a Super Bowl party? He denied the allegations on Twitter, but witnesses aren’t exactly agreeing with him.
It’s been more than a decade since Justin Timberlake was involved in the Janet Jackson Super Bowl scandal that officially coined the term “wardrobe malfunction,” but he’s finally getting back into the spirit of Super Bowl controversy.
While this time he wasn’t taking the stage at the Super Bowl (Queen Bey had that covered) he was performing alongside Jay-Z at the Super Bowl DirecTV party on Feb. 2.
Timberlake was singing his heart out at the pre-Super Bowl party in New Orleans when he suddenly took a pause to announce his next song.
To transition into his 2002 hit “Cry Me A River,” which was written about his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears he made a short remake that some saw as Spears insult.
“Sometimes in life, you think you found the one,” he said. “But then one day you find out that she is just some b***h.”
With the song being a well known track written about the couple’s split it’s no wonder fans were up in arms and questioning if Justin just publicly labeled Britney as a b***h.
Not to mention the split wasn’t a happy one with the “Toxic” singer allegedly cheating on Justin with Wade Robson who was her choreographer at the time.
So was he really dissing Brit on stage? According to him, he did no such thing.
Timberlake took to Twitter to deny the rumors and claimed he would never disrespect anyone that way.
“Ok. I see you. Wouldn’t disrespect ANYONE personally,” the “Suit & Tie” crooner tweeted. “Ever. #Relax. #ItsBritneyBitch I do love that saying though *with accent* #Respect.”
Back in 2002 it was no secret that the pretty boy pop star was hurt by his girlfriend’s unfaithful ways which helped spark the rumors that perhaps he was personally insulting Britney.
“He went to a concert and saw Britney, and Britney talked about him in the show and he was pissed,” Timbaland said in the 2002 E! True Hollywood Story about Timberlake.
During the show he also revealed that Spears was his “sun” and “earth” and he was visibly angered by the split.
Only question is, does he still harbor those feelings more than a decade later?
After tying the knot with the gorgeous Jessica Biel we wouldn’t think so, but then again you never know just how deep the emotional ties were between the two.
The pre-Super Bowl party wasn’t just about Timberlake’s supposed Britney insult; however, he also made the first live debut of his latest hit “Suit & Tie.”
He brought out good friend Jay-Z to help him perform the hit before remixing “My Love” with “Ni**as in Paris.”
Of course, all this happened after he started off with his older jams including “JT & the Tennessee Kids,” “Like I Love You,” and none other than “Cry Me a River.”
In addition to having Beyonce’s husband on stage, he brought out Timbaland to perform “Sexy Back” and got the entire crowd dancing and forgetting about the questionable statement he made a few songs ago.
Fans also got a taste of more new music when he previewed two songs off his upcoming album The 20/20 Experience.
He proved he’s still much of a lover boy with one of the songs being titled “That Girl” and the other “Pusher Love Girl.”
The new album I set to drop on March 19.
