Last year, Tyler Perry brokered a deal with Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network to develop a series of programming and other projects for the cable channel. Tyler Perry first two projects which are set to debut on the station are the one-hour drama titled The Haves and the Have Nots and a half-hour comedy series called Love Thy Neighbor, which are both set to air on May 29, 2013.
The new half-hour comedy series Lover Thy Neighbor has cast a large amount of actors including Jonathan Chase, Palmer Williams, Patrice Lovely, Kendra C. Johnson, Andre Hall and Darmirra Brunson. According to the series’ report, “the show will be set at Love’s Diner, where every day the menu serves up good food, great laughs, valuable life lessons and a whole lot of love for its many neighbors.”
As for The Haves and the Have Nots, the one-hour drama series will follow both an affluent family and a impoverished one. The series will show the well-off Cryer family and the poor family of Hanna, their housekeeper, and the obstacles and secrets that exist within both families. The Haves and the Have Nots will be headlined by John Schneider as the leader of the Cryer family, Jim Cryer. No other castings have been made for this show at this time.
