New G.I. Joe Retaliation Trailer Showcases High Flying Ninja Action

As the release date for G.I. Joe Retaliation draws nigh, Paramount seems keen on getting the word out by dropping several trailers and TV spots.

G.I. Joe fans can begin to breathe a sigh of relief now that the nine month delay for the sequel to G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra is coming to an end.  Retaliation has the Joes branded as traitors to the U.S. government. With their forces almost completely defeated, the team attempts one last stand to defeat Cobra Commander.

Aside from a couple lines muttered by General Joe Colton (Bruce Willis) and Roadblock (Dwayne Johnson), the new G.I. Joe Retaliation trailer focuses on nothing but the action. However, with glimpses of a battle between Snake Eyes (Ray Park) and Storm Shadow (Lee Byung-Hun) that includes bullets vs. ninja stars and a mountainside escape from a pack of zip lining ninjas, who can complain.

G.I. Joe Retaliation was directed by Jon Chu (Step Up 3D, Step Up 2: The Streets). Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick penned the script. Channing Tatum will reprise his role as Duke, and the aforementioned actors will be joined by Walton Goggins, Ray Stevenson, D.J. Cotrona, Adrianne Palicki, and RZA.
