Beyonce Lip Sync: Rumors are flying that Beyonce lip synced her entire inaugural performance of the National Anthem while Kelly Clarkson decided to belt out her number live. Despite possibly faking the performance, Beyonce still insists she didn’t fake a pregnancy.
Everyone was blown away by Beyonce’s angelic voice during her performance of the National Anthem at President Obama’s second inauguration, but rumors are suggesting that the entire performance was lip synced.
While Kelly Clarkson flawlessly performed “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” without the help of any backing, Queen Bey may have been too nervous to sing the National Anthem and opted for a pre-recorded studio version instead.
A spokesperson for the U.S Marine Corp Band dropped the bomb that the R&B powerhouse vocalist wasn’t performing without a little help.
According to TMZ, the rep explained that it isn’t unusual for them to record a backing track for the live performances to have just in case, but the celebs don’t have to use the track if they choose not to.
For some reason, however, Mrs. Carter at the last minute changed her mind and ditched the idea of a purely live performance.
“Beyonce decided shortly before her performance to rely on the studio version rather than risk singing it love on the Capitol,” The Times of London reported.
The rep for the Marine Corp Band revealed that he was just as shocked as anyone else.
“We all know Beyonce can sing – We don’t know why she chose to use the pre-recorded track,” the rep told TMZ.
But the real question is: is everyone blowing the backing track out of proportion?
If Queen Bey did sing over a backing track, it doesn’t mean she wasn’t singing at all she was simply singing over another track.
Also the quick snippet of Beyonce ripping her ear piece out suggests that she really couldn’t rely on the track as much as she probably would have hoped anyway.
Reports are revealing that the “Countdown” singer had technical difficulties with the music throughout the entire performance so she snatched out the ear piece.
In other words, she did something that’s even more difficult than just singing live – she sang blindly.
That means her spectacular ending of the Star Spangled Banner was all Bey.
Of course, rumors that the R&B queen might have faked her inaugural performance added more fire to the rumors that she also faked her pregnancy, but she addressed those rumors in her interview with GQ.
While the conversation didn’t make it unto the actual printed magazine, Blue Ivy’s mommy made it clear that she doesn’t care what the media has to say about her but her family does.
“I felt like I kind of had to protect my mother, because when people made up the silliest rumor about me not really being pregnant, she was there when I went through all of those things,” Jay-Z’s wife told the magazine. “And my sister; they were very, very defensive. It’s not personal to me, and it comes along with the job, but the lack of respect – people will just go too far sometimes.”
Something that Khloe Kardashian has also recently opened up about.
Either way, Mrs. Carter is insisting that her pregnancy was real and she even shared her experience giving birth.
“When I gave birth, that was the first time I truly let go and surrendered,” Baddie Bey continued. “And it taught me how amazing that feels… giving birth made me realize the power of being a woman. I have so much more substance in my life. And expressing that excitement and that sensuality and the connection I have with my husband – I’m a lot more comfortable with that now. I actually feel like my child introduced me to myself.”
Way to go Blue Ivy.
We’re sure people won’t ever actually let go of the fake baby bump or the lip synching rumor but for now we’re believers that Beyonce isn’t really trying to pull one over on us.
