Alicia Keys and Jennifer Hudson were spotted together at the Sundance Film Festival to promote their new movie and show off their chic winter fashion sense. Meanwhile, Alicia Keys is also getting ready for her own Super Bowl performance.
The Sundance Film Festival took place at the Library Center Theater in Park City, Utah and Alicia Keys and Jennifer Hudson showed up in style.
Alicia Keys has been busy working on her latest film project “The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete,” but this time she isn’t the one on the big screen.
Keys produced and scored the film while Jennifer Hudson took on a role in the film that proved she is an actress who can tackle anything.
Most actresses can’t take on a role unless they “fit” the character type, but Hudson played a character who was the complete opposite of her.
The movie portrays the story of two youths who are forced to fend for themselves after their mothers are taken away by the authorities.
Hudson takes on the role of a woman with a serious heroin addiction despite the fact that she has little to no knowledge about drug use.
“I’ve never had a drink before, I’ve never been drunk, unsober, in my entire life,” Hudson admitted. “I would never get a tattoo! It could not have been the furthest thing from myself.”
Either way, both ladies did an incredible job on the film that was received with applause and positive feedback at the Sundance Film Festival.
The movie wasn’t the only thing that everyone had their eyes on, however. Both Jen and Alicia were impeccably dressed despite the freezing temperatures in snow covered Utah.
Leather is definitely the trend this year and both ladies made sure they incorporated it into their outfits when the debuted the new film.
Keys rocked a gray sweater with a black leather torso along with some fitted dark denim and plain black boots. Her edgy cut, natural make up, and gorgeous smile completed the look as she looked effortlessly stunning.
Hudson, on the other hand, wanted to incorporate some color into her winter wardrobe. She flaunted her new curves in a leather button up and some fitted purple jeans. She chose a simple braided look for her hair with some cute studded black ankle boots that tied the look together.
Both stars looked incredible and cozy and posed for pic after pic with one of the movie’s young actors and the film’s director George Tillman Jr.
On Friday, the curvaceous ladies showed off even more of their winter fashion sense – making sure to bundle up and still look fabulous while doing do.
Hudson opted for a pair of thick black leggings and a beige colored sweater with matching earmuffs. Her curly locks cascaded down her back as she smiled for the camera in the middle of the snow.
The “Girl on Fire” songstress took to the cold in a gorgeous fur-lined black leather jacket with a green waistcoat and black turtleneck. She tied it all together with some black skinny jeans and another pair of black boots that were perfect for navigating through the snow.
From one “Dreamgirl” to the next, Alicia Keys will be heading off to join Beyonce in New Orleans in February.
Although the soulful singer wont’ be joining Queen Bey during the halftime show, she has been selected to sing the national anthem.
A source very familiar with the Super Bowl entertainment this year told the Associated Press that Keys has been booked to sing the national anthem in New Orleans on Feb. 3.
The insider chose not to disclose their name because the NFL has not announced the anthem singer just yet, but they already have the inside scoop.
What nobody knows quite yet is what teams will be battling it out at the Super Bowl, but the answer will be revealed soon enough.
Sunday the Falcons will take on the 49ers while the Patriots go head to head with the Ravens to see who will grab their spot in the 2013 Super Bowl.
