Award season can only mean one thing (besides awards): Red Carpet fashion. Last night’s Golden Globe Awards red carpet brought out all the stars in spectacular fashion. Everyone was out and dressed to impress; from A-list movie stars to reality TV stars turned small screen actors.
The pre-show red carpet as well as the after parties saw some of the season’s best fashion trends worn by some of the hottest stars.
Nude is in! The color, not the act of being nude – although that would make the rep carpet much more interesting for sure. Actresses Megan Fox, Hayden Panettiere and Amy Adams all dazzled in nude. On a sidenote, did anyone else forget that Megan Fox had a baby recently? I sure did. Her post-baby figure could make anyone forget that she was indeed pregnant and had a baby in September of last year.
One of the sexiest nude dresses was worn by none other than Jennifer Lopez. Showing off her amazing figure, as usual, JLo wore a Zuhair Murad long-sleeve silk gown with an ivory embroidered lace overlay with beading detail. She was sporting her much younger man, Casper Smart, as well. He looked quite dapper in a white suit jacket, black slacks and a button-up white shirt. He opted not to go for the tie; which is appropriate for the Golden Globes as the ceremony is formal, but not quite Oscar formal.
While the trend of neutral toned gowns ruled most of the Golden Globes red carpet, there were the brave who bucked the trend with bold colored gowns and printed attire. Rosario Dawson and Nicole Richie both wore blue gowns. Not afraid to take fashion risks, Halle Berry donned a one-shouldered, printed Versace dress with a sky high slit all the way up to her hip. It’s hard to believe this beauty is 46-years-old and was one of the only women who dared wear a bold print.
The after parties saw stars dressed in less formal, but still fabulous ensembles. Officially reunited couple Vanessa and Kobe Bryant looked happy and well-styled as a unit; her in black a knee-length little black dress with a plunging neckline and him in a tailored black suit with white collared shirt.
Plunging necklines must be a trend as well. For her after party look, Jennifer Lopez kept the gown but lost the nude color; opting for a black backless dress with a sexy plunging neckline.
Ever the trendsetter, Tariji P. Henson arrived at the Marie Claire after party wearing a white jump-suit embellished with pops of leather lining. She looked amazing and so different from everyone else in gowns and evening dresses.
Even newly engaged ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star NeNe Leakes made her red carpet debut in a very subtle yet sleek Carolina Herrera ensemble.
