Legendary boxing champion, Mike Tyson, will make his television acting debut as a convicted murder on NBC’s Law and Order: SVU.
Tyson is no stranger to the camera, both on television and the silver screen. He’s had cameos on HBO’s Entourage, Breaking In, and Who’s The Boss. Additionally, he made quite the impression on Zach Galifianakis (literally) in the 2009 box office comedy hit, The Hangover. According to Deadline, Law and Order: SVU will be Tyson’s first real acting gig. He’ll be delving into his dark and dramatic side when he portrays convicted felon Reggie Rhodes. Rhodes is a dangerous murderer whose violent tendencies result from a particularly tragic childhood. His character will already be on death row when introduced, however somehow connects to Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay’s) latest investigation.
Law and Order: SVU is no stranger to celebrity guest stars. The show has been a launching pad for some A-list actors, such as Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Banks, Ty Burrell, and Amanda Seyfried. Who knows, maybe Tyson’s guest starring role will be the start of a budding, dare I say it, even award-worthy acting career?
