Revered songstress, Adele, has been keeping a low profile since the birth of her baby boy last October, but there’s a good chance she will make her highly anticipated return to the spotlight at the 85th annual Academy Awards show this February. The new mom will likely grace the stage to sing her original theme song for the latest James Bond film, Skyfall.
Adele’s Skyfall is one of the best Bond theme songs in recent history. Additionally, Adele is arguably the best singer/songwriter in music today. It’s only fitting that she perform Skyfall at the Oscar’s 50th anniversary James Bond tribute. In addition to singing for the tribute, Adele might just bring home a little gold statuette of her own. To no one’s surprise, Adele’s Skyfall will likely be nominated for Best Original Song. As seen in Marie Claire, the Skyfall theme made the short list of 2012’s 75 original songs to be considered for Oscar nomination.
Official Academy Awards nominations will be announced on January 10th by the shows’ host Seth MacFarlane and Gangster Squad actress Emma Stone. Hopefully the rumors of Adele’s Oscar nomination AND performance will both be confirmed as ‘true’ later this week.
