Martin Lawrence is currently teaming up with Kelsey Grammer to produce and star in a multi-camera comedy together for Lionsgate TV. Both comedians have been recently effected by cancellations but now the two are looking to bounce back. Lawrence produced a separate TV show which was slated to appear on CBS but the network recently passed on the project. As for Grammer, he starred on Starz’ series Boss which was canned on November 20, 2012.
Lionsgate TV describes the upcoming show as a buddy series with close similarities to Odd Couple, the 1970s TV show which aired on ABC. It starred Tony Randall as Felix Unger and Jack Klugman as Oscar Madison, and was released by Paramount Television. Felix and Oscar were two divorced men. Felix was neat and tidy freak and Oscar was sloppy and casual. The two shared a Manhattan apartment together, and their differences obviously caused conflicts and laughs.
This show is set up to be a good series. Martin and Grammer are both stars in their own respected demographics, hopefully when the two collide it brings out the best from the two.
