Rihanna Directs River Island Campaign

Earlier this week, Rihanna directed a photo shoot in Los Angeles for her highly anticipated collaboration with “River Island.”  The models for the campaign will include Jourdan Dunn.  Rihanna has also been spotted around LA in a navy blue jumper, one of the line’s pieces.

Rihanna seemed excited following the shoot. “My bitches so Bvalgari… Just directed my first ad campaign for my new collection with River Island, Spring/Summer 2013!! And that’s a wrap at the end of a 2 day shoot w/ MARIO SORRENTI,” she tweeted.

In addition to River Island, Rihanna is also making headlines for her alleged comments comparing her relationship with Chris Brown to that of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown.

HollywoodLife.com quotes a Rihanna source, “Ri was watching Bobby and Whitney’s “Something In Common” video the other day and said ‘This is just like Chris and me. For real though, that’s the type of fun we having right now. I love Whitney. She was my girl. Can’t nobody do it better than her.’”

That “fun” appears in a track called “Nobody’s Business” on Rihanna’s latest album, Unapologetic, and the comparison to “Something in Common” is striking.   While Rihanna’s admiration for Houston’s talent is well-placed, she might consider the path Whitney and Bobby faced as a couple: drugs, violence, rehab and jail.

Considering Rihanna and Chris’s 2009 domestic dispute that left her with two black eyes and a restraining order, the pair definitely seem to have the explosive quality that characterized Whitney and Bobby’s entire relationship. Just last week, Chris Brown got into a fight on Twitter with comedian Jenny Johnson, before suspending his account. Just yesterday, he rejoined with a splash, posting a picture of himself smoking with Rihanna.

Rihanna has yet to publicly define her relationship or confirm a reconciliation.

If there’s one thing the two do have in common, it’s keeping the public guessing.
