Before Brad Pitt was a household name, he was an unwelcome guest in the home of former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson. In a recent interview, Tyson admitted to walking in on Pitt having sex with his ex-wife Robin Givens in 1988. At the time, Pitt was working TV guest spots, and had not yet achieved his status as a Hollywood heartthrob. Tyson was already in the process of divorcing Givens at the time, and apparently, there are no hard feelings.
“I was getting a divorce. I was going to my lawyer’s office to divorce her that day but I wanted to sneak in a quickie. This particular day, someone beat me to the punch,” Tyson told Yahoo! Interviewer Graham Bensinger. “I guess Brad got there earlier than I did. I was mad as hell. You should’ve saw his face when he saw me.”
“I hope Brad don’t think I’m mad at him. I’m not mad at this guy, no way,” Tyson added.
Tyson explained that he was still physically involved with Givens, despite having grown apart emotionally. The couple’s marriage lasted just a year, strained by a miscarriage, rumors of spousal abuse, and Tyson’s belief that Givens was only interested in his fortune. The boxer had shared a similar story about Pitt with the Global Grind earlier this year, with a little more venom and less bedroom details.
“I’m going to [Givens’] house to bone her again and no one’s home, and I’m leaving and she’s pulling up with Brad Pitt, and I’m sad. He wasn’t Brad Pitt back then. He was just some little beach-bum-looking dude. ‘Hey dude’ kind of guy,” Tyson said in April. “He was probably selling his body for money or something, I don’t know. He was very pretty… I wasn’t thinking about attacking him. I was just depressed I couldn’t bone her no more.”
The incident is documented in Tyson’s one man show, “Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth,” which will begin a nationwide tour in February.
