Nicki Minaj is thankful her mentor Lil Wayne has recovered from his health scare. On October 25, Lil Wayne’s jet had to make an emergency landing in Texas after he began to show seizure-like symptoms. He was rushed to a hospital and treated for dehydration and migraines. TMZ reported the Young Money CEO was under strict orders after the incident and recommended that he avoid flying.
According to Minaj, Weezy has had a great support system. “I know they didn’t want him to fly. Everybody that’s around him is taking care of him. Wayne has so many people around him that truly, genuinely love him. I’m not worried at all,” she said to MTV. “Even him being on the plane, thank God that there was somebody there right away that was able to help him. I’m just thankful that he was OK.”
Although she was positive when talking about her mentor, Minaj isn’t very fond of Barbara Walters. According to the Huffington Post, Minaj is upset with Walters because she took Mariah Carey’s side after a video of Minaj and Carey arguing on the American Idol set was released. The femcee expressed her disdain on her E! Special “Nicki Minaj: My Truth.”
” If I was J. Lo, you would’ve called J. Lo’s camp… You wasn’t even there when I was on the show, Barbara,” she said. “So I guess I’m not good enough, but I’m only good enough for you to tell people that I’m unpredictable when you don’t f*cking know me!” Minaj also shared her feelings on Twitter. “Barbara walters didn’t reach out from our team barbz. I guess we’re too dangerous. Don’t shake if u don’t wanna get shook,” she tweeted. Walters has been mostly quiet about the matter but she says she did reach out to Minaj’s team regarding the incident.
