Program Pictures currently has a movie about the Black Mafia Family(BMF) in the works. The film titled, Blame It On The Hustle, will feature a starring cast of DMX, Ving Rhames and Laila Odom, even though their exact roles aren’t known as of yet.
The Black Mafia Family (BMF), was a drug trafficking organization originally based in Detroit, Michigan. Founded by the Flenory brothers Demetrius and Terry, the organization began in the late 1980s. By the year 2000, they had established cocaine distribution cells in cities throughout the United States. Through their Los Angeles-based drug source, they had direct links to Mexican-based drug cartels.[1] They established two main hubs for their operation: the Atlanta, Georgia hub, for distribution, was operated by older brother Demetrius, while the Los Angeles, California hub was operated by Terry to handle incoming shipments from Mexico. Subsequent indictments eventually targeted over 150 members of the organization. Prosecutors alleged the organization made over $270 million over the course of the conspiracy(Wiki).
Blame It On The Hustle will be directed by Agustin, a Cuban director who helmed several Latin TV shows and movies. The film is scheduled to start shooting this month in New York City with Phil Gates, Philip Lawton, Paula Landry, Alex Mondesir producing.
Blame It On The Hustle is slated to be released in 2013. Personally, I hope DMX doesn’t get a main role. Do you remember his horrible acting in Belly? Guess we’ll just have to wait in see…
