Jennifer Hudson has lost a whopping 80 pounds and is finally done trying to drop anymore weight. Meanwhile the powerhouse singer is getting ready to take the stage at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert.
Hudson first came unto the music scene when she appeared as the talented, but rather large contestant on American Idol. Even the former American Idol judge Simon Cowell made several comments on the Dream Girl’s weight and it didn’t take long for her to finally do something about it.
She joined Weight Watches in 2010 and since then Jennifer’s weight loss has been astounding.
The “Spotlight” crooner still has her big voice, but ditched the big belly for a more slender but curvaceous look.
The 80 pounds lighter former American Idol contestant even used her beauty and new body to bless the cover of “Redbook.”
“I’m at the weight I want to be,” Hudson has confirmed. “But I hear all the time, ‘Don’t lose any more weight, you need to stop.’ People are under the impression I’m still losing but I’m not.”
In an interview with Oprah earlier this year, Jen’s fiancé David Otunga claimed that he loved his wife’s full figure which probably explains why the 31-year-old drew the line here. She definitely doesn’t have anymore stomach to lose, so next would have been some thighs, butt or even boobs and Otunga made it clear he wanted his woman with curve.
The transformation has been quite an experience for the former plus sized songstress who often forgets that her new sizes are strictly smalls or mediums.
“I got used to being plus-sized and knowing how to be that,” she explained. “…this is like ‘Okay, who am I?’ I keep thinking that I probably need an extra-large or a large and the stylist is like, ‘No, you need a medium or a small.’”
Just because she can fit a size small now, however, doesn’t mean she doesn’t still think about her larger days.
The Chicago native released a clothing line for QVC that focuses on making outfits for every size and shape of any woman.
“I look at each piece and think, ‘Could I wear that as big Jennifer or could I wear that now?” she explained. “I want to consider every girl.”
Either way, the gorgeous songstress will be able to show off her new body during the Nobel Peace Prize Concert next month.
She will be taking the stage in Oslo, Norway along side Seal and immediately took to Twitter to share her excitement.
“I am honored to be performing at the 19th Annual Nobel Peace Prize Concert on Dec 11 in Oslo, Norway,” the “I Remember Me” Crooner tweeted.
Geir Lundestad of the Norwegian Nobel Committee excitedly explained that both Jen and Seal will “help celebrate and promote peace, informing audiences of the extraordinary contributions or the Nobel laureate” through the use of their amazing music and astonishing voices.
