Jennifer Lopez has proved critics of her latest relationship wrong so far as her and backup dancer Casper Smart celebrate their one year anniversary.
Last Thursday J-Lo and Casper exchanged several love filled messages over Twitter as they marked their first anniversary on the social networking site.
The former American Idol judge was the first to confess her love over the Internet by tweeting, “BEAUcasperSMART BEAR!!!!!!!!! Today is OUR’s!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful smile with me everyday!”
Tweeting the message for her over 12 million followers to see proved that Lopez wasn’t being shy about showing off her new boo anymore.
When the pair first started dating, the “Dance Again” crooner rarely spoke of her relationship with her young back up dancer, but now she has no problem with a little PDA.
Casper responded to his 43-year-old girlfriend’s tweet with his own lovey dovey message.
“Happy 1 yr. anniversary to the most Gorgeous, Kind, Sweet, Funny, Beautiful Lil Bear in the world… Love Bear #October25,” the 25-year-old posted on his Twitter.
The couple finally went public with their love for each other last November, a mere four months after the mother of two announced the end of her 7-year marriage with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
Before Lopez and Smart became an item, it was obvious that the back up dancer was very good with his girlfriend’s 5-year-old twins Max and Emme.
“He’s adorable. But you already see that,” the “On the Floor” songstress told Vogue last year. “He really is [sweet]. He’s a good egg.”
Although she was happily involved with the young boy toy, the world didn’t react kindly to the 18 year age difference so the Latina star had to do her best to ignore the criticisms.
“She was just like, ‘It’s not even the age, Benny. It’s actually that I just came out of a relationship where I felt like I was kind of not getting what I needed,’” Marc Anthony’s ex told her manager, Benny Medina. “And I’m open! So somebody who steps in right now and is actually touching me in a way – it’s very fertile ground.”
Probably not the best choice of words, but we hear you Jen.
Despite publicly gushing over each other on Twitter, the seemingly inseparable pair weren’t seen together at the 21st UNESCO Charity Gala in Dusseldorf, Germany.
The sexy pop singer took the red carpet on her own; without her favorite boy toy accessory.
Casper’s boo flaunted her gorgeous figure in a black asymmetrical lace gown with a bright pink lipstick for a bit of flare. She also used a matching black sash belt to cinch the dress in at her tiny waistline, showing off her curves.
Based on her recent message about love, however, her solo appearance definitely doesn’t signify any trouble in paradise.
“You have to believe there’s somebody out there who is trustworthy, who’ll stick in there,” the Bronx native said. “It’s difficult when a family breaks up. I’m still living through it, just trying to do my best with the kids and moving on.”
She admitted that “moving on” without the father of kids and pushing forward with her young boyfriend was “one of the most difficult decisions” she’s ever made, but that hasn’t stopped her from believing in love.
“It’s been tough but I still believe in love,” she continued. “That would be my message: love is the most important thing.”
