Adele has given birth to a baby boy.
According to various reports, the singer and her partner Simon Konecki welcomed a son into the world on Friday night. This is Adele’s first child and Konecki’s second. According to a source, Adele is “ecstatic” about her son’s birth. The source also said the baby has become a muse to his mother. “The pregnancy has had a big impact on her songwriting,” the source added.
Adele’s spokesperson refused to confirm whether or not the baby had arrived. “We are not releasing a statement at this time. No comment,” said the spokesman.
Adele shocked the world when she announced her pregnancy in June. “I’m delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together,” she posted on her website. “I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx”
Adele started dating Koneck last summer and they officially moved in together earlier this year. There had been marriage rumors swirling around the couple but the “Someone Like You” singer promptly shut them down. “I’m not married…Zzzzzzz,” she wrote on her Twitter page.
Adele has a lot to celebrate. In addition to becoming a new mother, she was chosen to sing the theme for the new James Bond flick, a track called “Skyfall.” According to the Daily Mail, Bond star Daniel Craig specifically requested Adele. “When Adele’s name came up I just jumped at it, I just said, ‘We have to get her,’” he said during an interview. “I just thought that she has the voice and she’s got the tone that we wanted.” Adele is also responsible for her record label’s jump in success. According to a blurb in HitFix, her label’s profits rose to $67 million due to her hit album “21.”
