Nicki Minaj Uses Her Curves to Sell Pink Friday Fragrance

Nicki Minaj showed off her curvaceous figure to sell her Pink Friday fragrance during the new perfume’s launch at a Macy’s in New York.

The female rapper has always been known for her unpredictable and rather revealing wardrobe, so it was only expected that she would bring out all the stops at the launch for her new fragrance Pink Friday.

The “Starships” crooner stepped out in a vivid multi-color bra, high waisted blue and white leggings, and – what seems to be her new favorite touch – an open blazer.

A bubble gum pink police hat and platinum blonde wig completed the YMCMB rapper’s look as she showed off the distinctive perfume.

The Nicki Minaj fragrance bottle looks like none other than the hip hop Barbie herself, featuring a pink wig and gold Nicki Minaj name plate necklace.

“I’ve been thinking about [a fragrance] for like, the last two years actually; I knew I was going to call it Pink Friday,” the new American Idol judge told MTV News.

What she didn’t know at first was what exactly she wanted the fragrance to look like.

“I didn’t know I would have a pink wig on the bottle until I met with the fragrance company and they asked me what I wanted my bottle to look like and I said – ‘is there any way we can put a pink wig on it,’” Nicki continued. “They said, ‘You know what? Let’s try.’ And they came back with sketches and I was floored that they actually nailed it. I couldn’t stop looking at the sketches.”

The striking resemblance to her own persona convinced the “Roman’s Revenge” rapper that this was what her fans were waiting for.

“When I saw the actual picture and it began coming to life, I was like ‘wow’”, she added. “My fans are going to spaz out when they see this.”

Minaj has been coming into a lot of success lately and apparently it’s more of a shock to her than it is to anyone else. In fact, her doubts almost forced her to miss out on her latest award.

“I’m dead serious – I didn’t think I was going to win,” the 29-year-old rapper admitted in reference to her VMA for Best Female Video. “I wasn’t even going to go to the VMAs. So when they called my name – first of all, I didn’t hear them and then I looked and said, ‘They didn’t just call my name did they?’ I’ve never won up against those big girls, so it was big.”

“Big” indeed, because the reigning first lady of rap was up against megastar crooners such as Katy Perry, Rihanna, Selena Gomez, and the queen of R&B herself Beyonce.

In addition to discussing her feelings about her sudden success on The View, she also commented on the rumored American Idol feud with Mariah Carey.

“I look up to all of them in my own way,” she stated in reference to all of the judges on the panel. “Of course, I worked with Mariah very early on in my career, so I’m really grateful that she gave me that look very early on. And she’s really, really funny.”

Of course, the playful music star did slide in a questionable grin that could have suggested that there was something more to the story or perhaps it was just a part of her usual spontaneous, cartoonish facial expressions.

Either way, the “Young Forever” crooner is just happy to be dwelling in her own success and so far both ladies on the American Idol judges panel are continuing to deny any drama between them.
