The Twitter account for The Wolverine has just tweeted the first piece of official promotion for the film. The image features a shirtless (of course) Hugh Jackman as the popular mutant character, adamantium claws extended for action. It’s blurry, but you can see that the background is a Buddhist shrine of some sort, hinting at the movie’s Japanese setting. A sequel to 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, this film, directed by James Mangold, has been written to stand alone from its poorly-received predecessor. The Wolverine is set for release on July 26th next year.
