Rihanna’s fans, or “navy” as she calls them, are probably happy to hear she has a new single coming out. The singer posted teasers on her Twitter page directing her fans to her new website and she Instagrammed a picture of an R made up of potential song lyrics.
She also confirmed the release of the single, titled “Diamonds,” in an interview at the iHeartRadio musical festival. “It’s laid-back but it’s hopeful. It’s a record that… gives me such a great feeling when I listen to it,” she said. “The lyrics are very hopeful and positive, but it’s about love and… a little different to what people would expect, I think.”
She also described the song as “happy” and “hippy” and is eager to show her listeners what she has to offer this time around. “I’m excited about that. I’m excited to surprise them sonically,” she added. “When I make an album, that’s what I think about; what I want to hear, what I love to hear. I think that’s what my fans love… I always want to make it interesting for them. I always want to make it a little fresh and a little ahead of what’s on the radio.”
RiRi might be happy about releasing new music but according to various reports, she isn’t happy about Chris Brown’s latest tattoo. The tattoo, which is supposedly a sugar skull, drew a lot of attention when people started accusing it of being a bruised woman and, according to a source, Rihanna believes the hype.
“He must’ve known what people would think. But that’s typical of Chris he never thinks about anyone but himself,” a source told Look Magazine. “It’s a painful reminder for Rihanna of what she went through.” Rihanna and Chris Brown were reportedly close to reconciliation but according to the source, the tattoo ruined everything. “This has thrown Rihanna,” the source added. “She’s been calling Chris to say the tattoo is sickening and she’s furious.”
