Beyonce's Red ODLR Dress Reignites Old Michelle Obama Debate

Beyonce and bestie, actress, Gwyneth Paltrow have one more thing to talk about on their lavish vacations: hosting a fundraiser dinner for President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign.

In London last night Gwyneth was joined by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, Cameron Diaz and Tom Ford to host the $15,000 per plate dinner at Mark’s Club.

The “Contagion” actress was stunning in a long-sleeved body hugging Tom Ford dress. It is unknown how much the event raised by the end of the night. Stateside three evenings ago, Beyonce and husband Jay-Z hosted a $40,000 a-person event that raised nearly $4 million by the end of the night.

The Love on Top singer wore a red Oscar de la Renta dress that is capturing its own attention.  Bey’s dress is being compared to Obama’s opponent Mitt Romney’s Ann, wife who also wore a red ODLR dress to the Republican National Convention in addition to her choice of red altogether.

Among the fashion set who’ve followed every sleeveless, cardigan and gown worn by the first lady Michelle Obama knows the significance of this non-debate. But here’s a brief take on it. Dominican Republic born designer Oscar de la Renta who’s been favored by many first ladies can’t seem to figure out how to get his garment on Mrs. Obama. As such he’s taken to criticizing many of her designer choices and even her choice of what to wear like a cardigan to meet Queen Elizabeth. At least de la Renta mustered up enough guts to admit he’s “dying of jealousy.” With that said, both Beyonce and Ann Romney’s choice of designers shows they’re above this non-debate.
