Mariah Carey received a mixed response when she performed several of her hits at the 2012 NFL season kickoff concert and several of her detractors claimed that she was probably lip-syncing. However, there was no doubting the realness of her vocal prowess when she performed at the popular Jazz club Cafe Carlyle later that day.
Building from her signature breathy coos to belted vocal runs, Carey sang unrehearsed ad libs with the Cafe Carlyle band during the unrehearsed performance for the surprised audience. She even delivered a rendition of the classic song ‘Summertime’ from ‘Porgy & Bess’!
