The custody battle between R&B singer Usher Raymond and his ex-wife Tameka Foster Raymond still rages on despite the ruling back in August that granted Usher primary custody of the children.
Ms. Foster has filed a motion for a new trial because she believed the judge in their case, Superior Court Judge Bensonetta Tipton Lane, was biased against her.
According to TMZ, the claim happened after Usher’s former wife discovered that his lawyer had given campaign donations to the judge, and therefore was in favor of her R&B singer ex-husband.
The ruling on August 24 gave both parents custody over their two sons, Raymond V and 3-year-old Naviyd, but granted Usher primary physical custody.
The “Scream” singer has already responded to Tameka’s motion and has asked the courts to deny her request for another trial.
According to TMZ, Usher filed his response on Wednesday and claimed that his ex-wife’s motion was “an assault on the integrity of the court.”
The R&B singer also claimed that his former wife was delusional and if her request for a new trial was granted, it would call for a reversal of all other trials where a judge received campaign funds from one of the lawyers involved with the case.
A judge has not decided on the matter yet, but one can only hope that the couple fixes their troubled relationship soon for the sake of their young children.
