Most parents consider changing diapers a necessary evil but Beyoncé seems to think the opposite. “Actually, [Jay-Z] is very good. We both [change diapers]. I love changing diapers, I love it. I love every moment of it, it’s so beautiful. I love it all,” the songstress told Anderson Cooper during a segment on Anderson Live on Monday.
She also shared that her baby girl has brought out her silly side and she finds herself using her singing chops to calm Blue. “I sing nursery rhymes [to Blue] and I’m mommy and when she sees me, today was the first time she saw me perform in rehearsal, she was very confused,” Beyoncé continued.
All the carefree things aside, the “I Was Here” singer says becoming a mother gave her a sense of purpose. “[Having a daughter] just gives you purpose and all of the things that my self-esteem was associated with, it’s all completely different,” she continued. “I realized why I was born and more than anything all of the things I want to pass onto my child and the best way of doing that is not by preaching or telling her but showing her by example, which is one of the reasons I’m here.”
Beyoncé isn’t the only one raving about little Blue. As previously reported, dad Jay-Z was gushing about his baby girl to the New York Times magazine. The rapper, who penned the song “Glory” for Blue, shared that he hasn’t been pressed to make any more songs about the baby and he is just enjoying his baby. “I thought that I would after my daughter was born. I thought I would be more inspired with all the new feelings and everything that I’d have to write about, but it really happened the other way. I just really wanna hang out with her. I just wanna enjoy those moments for a bit and I’m sure that feeling of music will come back to me,” he said.
