Did Chris Brown’s girlfriend Karrueche Tran know Rihanna would have a tabloid worthy moment with her beau? With not many major highlights at the 2012 MTV VMAs, Rihanna and her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown sharing a kiss appear to be the hottest topic.
Just an hour or so before the VMAs were set to air, Karrueche tweeted a photo with this note: “Treat Your Girl Right”. It prompted her followers to question whether Brown was even attending the awards show. Well, attend he did in a gray suit sitting front row with Akon’s brother Bu Thiam.
MTV’s VIP Seating Cam captured Rihanna approaching her seat but first making her way to Brown who stood up to embrace her. The woman to the left of Brown is seen with her hands over her mouth as if to anticipate what would happen next. Chris and Rihanna share a kiss and a hug – she also hugs Bu – but no kiss for him.
According to one source the 24-year old singer was eager for her ex to attend, “He knows Rihanna will be there. She texted him on and told him ‘do what you want to and get ya a– there — I want to see you.’ He was hyped and was like, ‘man —- that, I’m going. [Chris] talked to her on the phone and they been texting all day and at the show.”
The debate will certainly ensue but it’s not at all surprising for many. Last month the “Man Down” singer confessed to Oprah about her anxiety when she sees her ex again, “It’s awkward because I still love him. My stomach drops, and I have to maintain this poker face and not let it get to the outer part of me.”
Brown’s girlfriend Karrueche tweeted “LOL” after the interview but it appears the laughter are from outsiders wondering how long will she remain in this relationship.
