New 'Cloud Atlas' Trailer Looks Impressively Unique

A new trailer came online for the Wachowskie’s adaptation of Cloud Atlas today. Unlike the first trailer, this one is only two minutes long. It focuses more on the overarching themes of reincarnation, and humanity’s commonality that run through the historical, and contemporary sci-fi chapters of the film.

Tom Tykwer directs the visually stunning adaptation of David Mitchell’s novel and follows Tom Hanks and Halle Berry’s characters from the past to a technologically advance distant future. “It’s a strange thing to describe” said cast member Ben Whishaw, “but when I read it I thought, if they pull this off it could be really unique, particularly because the actors keep popping up in different stories.”

Rounding out the co-stars are Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Doona Bae, James D’Arc, Xun Zhou, Kieth David, David Gyasi, Susan Sarandon and Hugh Grant.

Audiences will get to see Cloud Atlas first at the Toronto Film Festival on September 8, then it goes nation wide on October 26th.
