Azealia Banks has a few things going on this year from heading out to Hawaii to work with Kanye West to a possible collaboration with Lady Gaga but her debut album is not one of them.
“212″ rapper Azealia Banks’ much-anticipated debut album won’t land in 2012 reports Billboard.
“Broke with Expensive Taste” will arrive on February 12, 2013, the musician announced on Twitter. It was previously scheduled for September.
“I have ALOT of REALLY excitin ish happening in btwn! it will ALL make sense as these things start to unravel,” Banks added.
However, it’s not the first delay for the rising rapper, whose “1991″ EP was pushed back earlier this year before its June release.
What Banks’ “excitin ish” is remains to be seen, but the musician also noted that she’s in Hawaii — the scene of Kanye West and G.O.O.D. Music’s current wrap-up sessions for September-due album “Cruel Summer.” Perhaps she’ll follow in the footsteps of fellow Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School alum Nicki Minaj, whose own solo debut came alongside a show-stopping verse on West’s “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.”
Meanwhile Banks is inching closer and closer to a collaboration with Lady Gaga. The two have been talking on Twitter, hinting at working together in the future. Banks tweeted: “When Mother Monster calls shit is about to get very fucking real.”
Gaga then said the two had a phone conversation, and added on her own Twitter: “@AZEALIABANKS can you make “99 Problems” my ring tone for when I call you, and then shout BITCH AINT ONE at me when you pick up?”
Banks later said: “Talking to Lady Gaga on tha twitta … NBD. HUGE DEAL.”
