Finally, a Rihanna story that’s about music. Kinda.
The “We Found Love” star, whose name has been on the tip of everyone’s tongue since she told Oprah that she still loves Chris Brown in an interview that aired on Sunday, was recently in the studio with the British producer and rapper Fazer, a member of the British hip hop trio N-Dubz.
In an interview with The Sun newspaper, Fazer said he and Rihanna made some “great songs” together when they were in the studio together recently. But he doesn’t know if the public will ever hear them because he has to wait for the Rihanna team to make a decision on the tracks.
”A few weeks ago I got approached to do a session to produce some records for Rihanna and we made some great songs,” said Fazer, whose real name is Richard Rawson. ”Now it’s just a waiting game to see if any of them are going to be used. But if they’re not, I’ve got a great saying—’One man’s miss is another man’s hit.’ Because we did make some amazing records.”
Fazer also had some thoughts on Rihanna’s personal life, insisting that despite her reputation for hard partying, she’s “just a normal girl.”
“Rihanna‘s normal. Everyone assumes she’s an alien because she’s at such a massive global level,” he said. “People need to understand she’s a person living a normal life when she’s not doing music. She’s just a normal girl trying to live a normal life.”
We might have had a follow-up question asking Fazer to define “normal.” These days there is very little about Rihanna’s life that is normal by the standards of everyday human beings.
In her interview with Oprah, Rihanna said of Chris Brown, “We’ve been working on our friendship, again. Now, we’re very, very close friends. We built a trust again and that’s it.”
“We love each other and we probably always will,” she said in the interview that took place in her native land of Barbados. “And that’s not anything that we’re gonna try to change. It’s not something you can shut off if you’ve ever been in love.”
