The tension between Katherine Jackson and her children has forced the mother of deceased king of pop Michael Jackson to ask the executors of the estate to pay her living expenses in Las Vegas.
According to channel24.com, the estate recently filed documents asking for the executors to pay “expenses relating to a residence in Las Vegas.” It was previously believed that the claim related to mortgage payments on the property, but sources explained to TMZ that Janet Jackson owns the house outright.
The insider told the site that Janet never spends time at the Las Vegas residence and only bought it for the use of her mother, who is the legal co-guardian of the late King of Pop’s three children. The expenses that Katherine is asking to be covered are for food, cable, utilities, Internet, travel and even toilet paper.
The request was made before news broke of Janet and some of her siblings calling for the executors of Michael’s estate to resign, claiming his will was a fake. The will, which was read shortly after Michael’s death, left everything to his mother, three children and various charitable organizations.
The move by the Jackson siblings to get their hands on Michael’s estate was no shock to his oldest son Prince, 15, who tweeted, “As long as I can remember my dad had repeatedly warned me of certain people and their ways.”
Michael’s siblings are allegedly banned from the home in Calabasas, Calif. where Katherine lives with Prince, Paris and Blanket because Michael’s estate pays for the property. According to reports Katherine is “heartbroken” over their recent selfish actions and doesn’t want to see them anyway.
Problems began to arise when Janet, Rebbie, Randy, Jermaine and Tito sent a letter to estate executors John Branca and John McClain demanding they resign from their positions. Jermaine and Tito later released a statement saying they regretted signing the document.
