Former Miami Dolphin Chad Johnson has seen better days. After allegedly head-butting now estranged wife Evelyn Lozada, Johnson has lost his wife, job and TV show overnight. Literally. The embattled wideout spoke on the subject, while not directly, via his Twitter account.
“I haven’t had to tread water in a long time….Special thank you to my fans…family…friends for keeping me afloat…” Johnson changed his Twitter profile picture to a road sign pointing in two directions; “Rock” and “Hard Place.”
Lozada filed for divorce just 41 days into their marriage and has dubbed herself as a spokeswoman for victims of domestic violence everywhere. “Domestic violence is not okay, and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well,” she said.
Lozada’s aggressive and confrontational behavior on her show “Basketball Wives” has lead some to question what happened that day. According to her, Johnson head butted her after Lozada confronted Johnson about a receipt for condoms she found in his vehicle.
The event led to Johnson’s release by the Miami Dolphins. The meeting between head coach Joe Philbin and Johnson was caught on film by HBO’s Hard Knocks and aired this Tuesday.
