Robert Pattinson Rebounds With 'Queen of the Desert'

Robert Pattinson is not allowing the breakup with Twilight costar Kristen Stewart to stop him at all. The actor has been staying busy promoting his upcoming film Cosmopolis, while still managing to land roles in upcoming films.

Pattinson has recently secured a gig working alongside Naomi Watts in Queen Of The Desert, Werner Herzog’s biopic of Gertrude Bell.
Watts will play Bell while Pattinson will star opposite of her as Lawrence of Arabia, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The film will chronicle Bell’s life as a writer, archeologist, explorer, cartographer and political officer for the British Empire, Variety reports. She was described as the female Lawrence of Arabia for her work in the Middle East that led to the formation of the borders of Iraq, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

Peter O’Toole earned an Oscar for his portrayal of Lawrence 50 years ago, in David Lean’s 1962 classic Lawrence of Arabia.

Robert Pattinson has spent this week promoting Cosmopolis, the drama directed by David Cronenberg. The actor is set to star alongside Guy Pearce in the postapocalyptic indie The Rover. He has also lined up a role in Mission: Blacklist, an indie thriller about Saddam Hussein’s capture.
