New York City police have identified the Twitter user they think is responsible for threatening to open fire inside Mike Tyson’s one-man Broadway show.
Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said cops would be interviewing the suspect as soon as possible. The user, whose name was withheld from the media, does not live in New York City.
On Tuesday, Twitter complied with a subpoena and turned over user information tied to the account after originally denying the NYPD’s request to identify the user.
“There’s always the possibility of someone else using someone’s account so we’re conducting an investigation,” Kelly said Wednesday.
The original twitter post, which has since been deleted, said, “This s**t ain’t no joke yo I’m serious people are gonna die just like in aurora.
Tyson’s show, which is entitled “Undisputed Truth,” is directed by Spike Lee and touches on subjects like his tumultuous marriage to Robin Givens, his stint in prison and his cocaine addiction. The show is playing at the Longacre Theater on W. 48th St. in Manhattan through August 12.
