'The Wolverine' On-Set Video Comes Online

After overcoming years of setbacks, filming for The Wolverine is officially underway.

It was Hugh Jackman himself, who made the announcement via twitter, tweeting “We’re on day 1 of shooting. Wolverine is back… feel so pumped about this one… never felt so ready!!!! will keep y’all posted!!!”

A video has also surfaced showing us a glimpse of what the set looks like. Filming is currently taking place on location in Kurnell, Australia, where a Japanese prison camp replica has been built on a beach. The footage was captured by Australia’s 7News.

The Wolverine tells the story of the clawed drifter, Logan, traveling to Japan to train with a samurai warrior. He winds up falling in love with a Japanese woman who’s already been promised in an arrange marriage.

As usual, the atamanium plated mutant is unwilling to back down from a fight and now is engaged in a deadly conflict with the Silver Samurai to win her hand.

The Wolverine is directed by James Mangold and stars Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee and Svetlana Khodchenkova. The film opens in cinemas on 26 July 2013.
