Last week Charlie Sheen’s new TV show Anger Management rung-bells after drawing in a record breaking 5.5 million viewers on the first night and 5.7 viewers on the subsequent second episode, making it the most-watched debut ever for a TV series.
The tables have turned after last week’s success. This week, the number of viewers for the FX comedy have dropped significantly, having a more than two million viewer drop-off. That fall equals to little more than a 41 percent descend from last week’s debut.
Anger Management is an American comedy series that premiered on FX on June 28, 2012. The TV show is based on the 2003 movie which has the same name and stars Charlie Sheen in a role similar to Jack Nicholson in the original film.
The new numbers may have an effect to whether Anger Management gets picked up for 90-episode renewal per the agreement with distributor Debmar-Mercury. Final determinations will be made after the end of the 10th episode.
Anger Management airs FX at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday nights.
