July Begins Miami Spa Month; Here Are a Few Standouts

Grove Isle Hotel & Spa

You might dread the idea of visiting Miami in the summer, but thanks to annual promotions like Miami Spa Month, which kicks off on Sunday, it’s actually not as bad as you might think. (Miami Spice, the restaurant version, starts on August 1).

Throughout July and August, Miami’s best spas–most of them in cool hotels–are offering special treatments for just $99 plus tax and gratuities. This is one of our favorite ways to experience a hot hotel without having to pay hundreds to check in.

While all the South Beach stars like Delano, Mondrian and the Standard are on the list, there are some other spas on this list that we consider sleeper hits–lesser-known gems totally worth checking out during Miami Spa Month.

Grove Isle Hotel & Spa: This low-key hotel just off of Coconut Grove not only has an awesome spa in totally zen surroundings–it has a Watsu pool. This treatment–where a therapist basically massages you while you’re both in a warm pool–is hard to find and this is one of the few in Florida. It’s not included on the Spa Month menu but it’s a good excuse to get you there to check it out.

Casa Moderna Miami: The spa here is fresh from a little makeover that took place just as the hotel made its transition from Tempo Miami to Casa Moderna. Nothing beats a brand new spa for feeling brand new yourself.

The Ritz-Carlton, Coconut Grove: Another spa that just had its own refresh, this one is worth visiting for its intimacy and quiet. Their Spa Month choices include a pedicure–a summer essential–and a Mimosa Body Treatment with Massage. Mmmm.

Acqualina Resort & Spa: While it’s located up in Sunny Isles, which is not always convenient if you’re staying in South Beach, this ESPA spa gets our vote as one of the most luxurious spots in town. They do amazing facials and, good news for dudes, a men’s facial is part of the Spa Month menu.
